ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this Property Accountant role will provide hands-on accounting support across a multi-entity commercial property environment.
You will work closely with sales & leasing, asset management, and owners corporation teams to ensure accurate financial operations, compliance, and reporting.
This is an ideal first-mover opportunity from public practice into industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Process trust account transactions including deposits, commissions, and settlements

Perform daily trust reconciliations and support audit requirements

Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activities

Support Owners Corporation accounting and reporting
-
Prepare BAS and assist with GST and FBT compliance
-
Maintain financial records across multiple entities and property structures
-
Assist with month-end close and reconciliations
-
Liaise with internal stakeholders, clients, and external advisors
-
Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
-
Public practice background (non-negotiable)
-
Business services accounting experience in a small or mid-tier firm
-
CA/CPA qualified or working towards
-
Strong understanding of GST and tax obligations
-
Experience with MYOB or similar accounting systems
-
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
-
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
-
Interest in the property industry highly regarded
-
Proactive, driven mindset with willingness to take ownership
