For a United Nations Agency, NTT DATA is looking to hire immediately a fully remote :

GIS Solutions Architect

Objective

The overall aim is to review the current IT/GIS platform and solution architecture, including innovative technologies especially related to IoT data pipeline and innovative camp solutions with respect to the needs and business drivers identified during this activity and, if needed, propose changes to the architecture, while identifying configuration opportunities considering technical inputs including non-functional requirements, constraints, standards, and policies. The ultimate goal is to transform the platform to make it a high-performing system, evaluating the current environments, development and delivery based on an in-depth analysis, and design of the target state as well as the required migration and fallback plans. At the same time, it is required to provide a strategy on best practices to be applied for platform virtualization.

 

Responsibilities and Scope:

The Solutions Architect will assess and review current system architecture, environments, and processes to more efficiently deliver geospatial and other innovative web and mobile solutions and will support the Solutions and Support Unit in providing a strategy on reducing overall IT costs, improve the utilization of current IT/GIS resources as requested. The Individual Contractor is expected to assess based on key best practices and considerations the overall state of the organization's IT systems

and location-based production implementation, including products and enterprise geodatabase implementation and configuration.

 

The Solutions Architect will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assess the platform and advise on best practices on the GIS/IT system and its related architecture
  • Review the integration of the Geospatial IT systems within the Organization platform and the development pipeline
  • Provide platform analysis services to clients and/or internal stakeholders.
  • Conduct analyses of technology and associated operational processes to recommend platform designs and strategies that will improve service, lower costs, and prevent unforeseen operational issues.
  • Define, explain, and validate the solution-testing criteria for infrastructure and systems.
  • Design services and formulate recommendations in technology solutions, operations architecture, and United Nations standards.
  • Assist in deploying solution architectures that promote a clear, consistent business vision
  • Analyze alternative architectures and define a solution's cost-of-ownership.
  • Articulate key aspects of architecture and design (e.g., scalability, availability, manageability, robustness, appropriate incorporation of new technology) through models, documentation, and code; present architectures to executive management, clients, and developer teams
  • Due diligence of existing solution, analyzing platform in scope, logical interconnectivity, service dependency, integration options, and security constraints.

  • Assess the readiness of the the organization's platform for modern geospatial deployment technologies
    for Kubernetes deployment.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Advanced university degree in computer science, Information Technology, or information systems.
  • Proven experience with planning and managing large scale organization’s multi-tiered Information System’s architectures.
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of computerized information management, including system design and analysis, programming tools and languages, hardware, software, database applications, and network applications and capabilities.
  • Significant experience across a broad range of IT related skill areas including networking, ICT security, server management, data flow designs for integration of various interconnecting systems especially Geospatial Information System and Internet of Things.
  • Prior Experience of IoT Business Arena, technology trends and competitive landscape.
  • Experienced to guide on IoT based business strategy and requirements into solutions and services.
  • Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Have experience with designing architecture for Microservices and Kubernetes.
  • Good understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile methodologies
  • Having TOGAF certification is preferred.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise in a product support, product planning, or consulting environment.
  • Understanding of existing geodatabase functionality and database integration with IoT Databases.
