Process Safety Engineer

Process Safety Engineer (PSE) Standish-with-Langtree, England

Salary: GBP35000 - GBP40000 per annum

Major Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of our client based in Standish, who are a leader in their field.

 

As a Process safety engineer, you will control the running of all equipment on site, to ensure that they run both safely and efficiently, whilst maintaining and controlling and effective system. 

 

General duties of a Process Safety Engineer;

 

• Working closely with process chemicals and control engineers to ensure the
production plant is set up to provide maximum output and efficient running of the
production facility
• Designing plant and equipment configuration so that they can be readily adapted to
suit the product range and the process technologies involved, taking environmental
and economic aspects into account
• Instituting scale-up and scale down processes including appropriate changes to
equipment design and configuration
• Assessing options for plant expansion or reconfiguration by developing and testing
process simulation models
• Designing, installing, and commissioning new production machinery,
monitoring development and troubleshooting
• Optimising production by analysing processes and compiling de-bottleneck studies
• Apply new technologies
• Ensuring that potential safety issues related to the project operator, the
environment, the process, and the product are considered at all stages
• Organise and chair hazard studies
• Coordinate preparation of major hazard risk assessments
• Provide functional safety expertise to the engineering department
• Develop and deliver bespoke training packages to allow safe and efficient working
practices
• Work closely with Production to ensure compliance and provide interlink with Process
Safety Requirements
• Participate in Pre – Production Meetings to address Process Safety concerns as they
arise

 

The hours of work for this position are 0800 - 1600 Monday to Friday
