An opportunity has arisen for a Manufacturing Engineer to join a global leading design and manufacturing business. Due to continued success and growth, they are looking to expand their engineering team to help with future projects and investments. The Manufacturing Engineering department is conduit between all of their key functions, responsible for developing and maintaining robust manufacturing processes and leading continuous initiatives, ensuring that products are manufactured on time, budget, and to quality.

As a Manufacturing Engineer, your responsibilities will include:

  • Recommend and implement best practice processes which lead to lower cost, increased production efficiency which do not affect design integrity or quality.
  • Define and prove best practice build techniques.
  • Determine any new material and process information required in line with current and future legislative and environmental requirements.
  • Liaise with design engineers and others to ensure that products are best designed for manufacture (DFM), including suppliers.
  • Provide line build support for all products and processes. Resolve daily build issues, working in conjunction with design engineering, quality, and production then issue appropriate build information to Manufacturing Team Leaders.
  •  Document daily build issues daily highlighting areas of concern / improvement. 3C’s (Cause, Concern, Corrective action) used to log build issues.

We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who has the following skills and experiences:

  • Qualified to degree level (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, along with a demonstrable track record of success in similar role.
  • Ideally your work experience will be gained in the Automotive industry, however we would also welcome those from other similarly complex, labour intensive engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Analytical, methodical and comfortable with working with large amounts of data, you will be able to display a strong and consistent approach to implementing new processes. As such, you will relish the role of being the ‘build authority’ and owner of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Be comfortable with various methodologies and ways of working, such as Just In Time (JIT), six sigma, Lean, Kaizen and or continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability lead both direct and in-direct teams as well as taking a hands-on approach to all areas of accountability. Furthermore, you will have the ability to influence and modify behaviours, using a collaborative problem-solving approach.
  • Self-motivated, with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise in line with changing business needs.
  • Highly IT literate, being a competent user of Microsoft Office, as well as CAD/business intelligence/Quality Management/ERP systems.

Shift Details:
