Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team on the 2nd shift. In this role, you will operate and set up CNC Vertical Mills, as well as manual machines, to produce precision parts according to exact specifications. The ideal candidate will be skilled in both CNC and manual machining, with experience in reading blueprints and performing quality checks to ensure all parts meet tight tolerances. Key Responsibilities:
- CNC Machine Operation: Set up and operate CNC Vertical Mills to perform machining operations on various materials.
- Machining Operations: Perform complex series of progressive machining operations, including drilling, tapping, milling, and finishing, to precise tolerance and finish specifications.
- Multi-Unit Operation: Ability to operate multiple machines simultaneously, ensuring high efficiency and quality control across all units.
- Manual Machining: Utilize manual machines such as Bridgeport mills, lathes, and grinders to perform secondary operations and part modifications.
- Quality Control: Conduct quality checks on parts using precision measurement tools, making adjustments as necessary. Perform machine offsets to ensure the proper dimensions and quality of finished products.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and understand part designs and technical drawings to ensure correct machining procedures and part specifications.
- Programming: Ability to program and operate CNC machines to complete all necessary drilling, tapping, and milling operations.
- Maintenance & Setup: Perform machine set-ups, maintenance, and adjustments to maintain optimal machine performance and ensure high-quality output.
Qualifications:
- Direct Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience with CNC Vertical Mills, manual mills, lathes, and grinders in a machine shop or fabrication setting.
- CNC Programming: Experience programming and operating CNC machines using Fanuc, Fidia, Heidenhain, or similar controls.
- CAM Software: Familiarity with WorkNC CAM or RTM/Lemoine CAM software is a plus.
- Advanced Machining: Experience with 3+2 and 5-axis machining operations, as well as the machining of 3D contour surfaces.
- Injection Molding: Experience with injection mold core/cavity/component machining, including 2D plate machining and component machining, is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings and interpret them accurately to ensure proper setup and machining.
- Quality Focus: Strong focus on quality control, ensuring all parts meet tolerance specifications and finish requirements.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex machining problems in real-time to maintain workflow and efficiency.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working with large, heavy machinery and tools.
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision work.
