About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Plater to join a busy engineering and fabrication team in Middlesbrough. This role will involve a mixture of plating, fabrication, and pipe fitting duties, working on a variety of heavy engineering and industrial projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled tradesperson looking for a long-term position with a well-established employer.
Key Requirements

• Proven experience working as a Plater
• Ability to tack with TIG to a high standard
• Experience carrying out basic pipe fitting and pipework assembly
• Able to read and interpret engineering, fabrication, and isometric drawings
• Experience working with carbon steel and stainless steel materials
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Reliable with a positive attitude towards teamwork and safety

Duties

• Fabrication and plating work in line with engineering specifications
• Marking out, cutting, forming, and assembling steel plate components
• Tack with TIG and fitting components prior to final welding
• Assisting with the fabrication, fitting, and installation of pipework and associated components
• Measuring, preparing, and aligning pipe sections, flanges, and supports
• Working from technical drawings, plans, and fabrication sketches
• Carrying out quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
• Supporting production targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship
