Production Planner – Brough

We are looking for a Production Planner to join our Operations team in Brough. This role is central to ensuring production runs smoothly, customer deadlines are met, and efficiency across the factory is maximised. You will work cross-functionally with engineering, logistics, purchasing, and sales to align production schedules with demand, maintain inventory levels, and help drive continuous improvement.


What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and maintain accurate production schedules based on customer orders, capacity, and inventory levels.
  • Adjust schedules to meet changing demand or resolve production delays.
  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and logistics teams to ensure effective resource allocation.
  • Monitor and manage material inventories, recommending adjustments to safety stock and supply levels.
  • Raise purchase orders through the MRP system (standard and blanket POs), balancing MOQ requirements with cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing to forecast production requirements.
  • Track production performance, inventory, and resource utilisation; prepare regular reports for management.
  • Identify and support cost-saving opportunities and continuous improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for

  • A Level 3 qualification in Procurement & Supply, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year’s experience in production planning, manufacturing, or a similar role.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with MRP software (Factory Master preferred).
  • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of production processes, supply chain management, and inventory control.
