Data Engineer (GCP, Bigquery, Dbt) (TR/4043753) Amsterdam, Netherlands

The Marketing Activation organisation is undergoing a major digital transformation, aiming to build a unified Marketing Data Foundation that will operate as the single source of truth across Performance, Strategy, Acquisition, Organic Search, and CRM. 

Responsibilities

  • Build production-grade data pipelines, especially within the CRM domain
  • Collaborate with Software Engineering, Architecture, and Product to co-create the Marketing Data Foundation
  • Optimise GCP and BigQuery environments for large-scale datasets
  • Lead advanced dbt modelling, including Semantic Layer setup
  • Support ML and AI-readiness through structured data modelling
  • Drive engineering excellence through mentorship, documentation, Git best practices and code reviews
  • Help define and register Data Products aligned with Data Mesh guidelines
  • Support the organisation during the Adobe Experience Platform transition

Required Skills & Experience

  • Expert knowledge of GCP & BigQuery
  • Proven experience developing automated ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Strong mastery of Git, branching strategies, and CI/CD
  • Expert-level dbt experience in large-scale environments
  • Experience with Data Mesh concepts and data productisation
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across multiple teams
  • Experience preparing data for ML, LLMs, and agentic AI systems
  • Awareness of Adobe Experience Platform
