PLC/BMS Manager

PLC/BMS Manager (JO014800) Egypt

  • Take the technical responsibility for operational aspects of the PLC/BMS dept. for all projects; including: system performance & status, minor upgrades, metering, associated energy and plant load review, 3rd party integrations using: Modbus, LONworks, BACnet...etc,
  • Lead the design team to develop and produce the design of Electrical AT system based on the basic design, project specifications and other related operational standards,
  • Develop initial scoping for all projects, basis of design, commissioning protocols in collaboration with the team in order to design, program and start up control systems for projects,
  • Prepare Purchase requisition for Motor Control Centers, PLC, HMI, worstations etc, propose technical analysis of the offers, follow-up Purchase Orders execution
  • Analyze reasons of failure of Equipment / Sub-system and provides specific diagnostic, problem analysis and specify the necessary remedial actions,
  • Use the historical logged data of various Plants and Equipment to review the system and propose improvements in order to enhance the system efficiency and / or reduce the operation cost as well as improve the services provided to client,
  • To actively represent the company in a professional manner at all times by provide clear on-site communication / clear understandable works reports / regular communication with the concerned parties responsible for timely escalation of any issues or occurrences,
  • Perform auditing of plant performance when required by utilizing the facilities built on (PLC/BMS) like: data logging, Equipment status review, Alarm manager status…etc,
  • To be responsible for the work progress of Electrical AT & Controls deliverable lists according to planning,
  • Maintain the quality of work performed,
  • Participate in organizing and attending the FAT programme with T&C manager,
  • Manage availability of site resources to achieve the required deliverables as per the project planning,
  • Assist when required in arranging inspections and testing by Project and external Parties.

 

Requirments

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical engineering,
  • Must have at least 10 years of proven work experience with evidence of leadership on at least one mega project,
  • Broad technical knowledge of all Electromechanical systems is a must, experience in metro / Rail projects is an added advantage but not mandatory, Advanced knowledge of controls and BMS/PLC systems,
  • Ability to navigate different BMS software,
  • Proven experience working in: HVAC, Smoke Management and Fire Life Safety principles is a must. Tunnel Ventilation is an added plus,
  • Strong knowledge of the control system of different Electro-mechanical Equipment like: (Chillers, DX systems, Fans ,Pumps, Escalators, Elevators...)
  • Experienced in preparing and reviewing control and logic diagrams to develop the Overall sub-systems functionality,
  • Experienced in PLC panelboards and controls, identifying all field devices, cabling and other system components,
  • English proficiency is mandatory in (reading/writing/speaking), has the capability to write technical reports clearly, French is considered as a plus,
  • Excellent user of all Microsoft Office tools,
  • Good communication skills, ability to plan and organize daily activities, action-oriented, high ability to analyze and resolve problems, ability to perform under pressure and recognize when a sense of urgency is critical, ability to be flexible and adapt to dynamic environments.
