Our host is a growing IT services provider with a team of about 32 employees, delivering reliable and professional IT support to a diverse client base. They pride themselves on strong customer service, structured processes and developing future IT professionals.
They are seeking a motivated IT Technician Trainee to join their team and complete a Certificate IV in Information Technology (Microsoft) while gaining hands-on, real-world experience in a supportive environment.
The Opportunity
This traineeship is ideal for a junior IT professional eager to learn and develop their technical and customer service skills. You will work closely with experienced engineers and supervisors while providing first-line support to clients.
You will be supported by qualified supervisors, with 3 experienced employees available to supervise, and clear escalation pathways in place.
Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for client IT issues via phone, email, or ticketing system.
- Resolve common IT issues including: Password resets, Printer and peripheral connectivity, Basic network and internet issues, Software installation guidance, Email access and configuration issues
- Accurately log incidents and service requests.
- Maintain clear ticket notes, time entries, and status updates.
- Follow documented procedures, workflows, and service standards to ensure consistency and quality.
- Assist with updating and maintaining basic documentation, including: How-to guides, internal knowledge base articles
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to Level 2 Engineers in line with defined escalation processes.
- Prepare simple hardware and software quotes under supervision.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients.
- Set and manage expectations regarding response and resolution times.
