MEGT is looking for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander young people to join our host as a Community Services Trainee based in their Queanbeyan office. This is a paid traineeship where you’ll learn, earn and grow, while completing a Certificate IV in Community Services.

About the Traineeship

As a Community Services Trainee, you’ll gain hands-on experience working with young people aged 12–25 who access headspace services. You’ll be supported by a friendly, multidisciplinary team every step of the way.

You don’t need experience just motivation, curiosity, and a passion for helping others.

What You’ll Learn & Do:

  • Welcoming young people at reception and answering phone enquiries
  • Helping book appointments and manage referrals
  • Supporting follow-up with young people to make sure they feel supported
  • Assisting with community activities, workshops and youth groups
  • Working alongside health professionals and community partners
  • Promoting mental health, wellbeing and help-seeking
  • Learning about cultural safety, advocacy and community engagement
  • You’ll also have dedicated paid time to complete your training and study.

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
  • Have recently finished school or are starting your career
