We are looking for an Operator for sample dispatch for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Position is located in TREKKOPJE site

Contract Duration: 5 months (Mai-Sept) – with a flexibility according to campaign progress

Work conditions: 12h shift work (7days/7 24h/24) 

Qualification and Experience Required:

• Certification: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: Previous experience in sample handling, warehouse operations, or logistics is an asset.
• Experience in the drilling or mining industry is a plus but not required.
• Language: Fluent in English written and spoken
• Main skills: Ability to follow detailed instructions and work as part of a team.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic proficiency with inventory systems and computer software is preferred.
• Physical stamina for lifting, moving, and organising heavy sample containers.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Driving licence

Purpose

• The Sample Operator Dispatcher is responsible for executing tasks related to the collection, storage, organisation, and dispatch of geological samples during a drilling campaign. Working under the direction of the Sample Technician Dispatcher, this role ensures that samples are managed efficiently and accurately while adhering to established procedures and safety standards.

Sample collection and handling:

• Follow the instructions of the Sample Technician Dispatcher to collect, label, and transport samples from the drilling site to the designated storage area.
• Handle samples with care to maintain their integrity and ensure compliance with preservation protocols.

Storage and organization

• Organize and store samples in the designated areas according to the established storage system.
• Ensure that samples are easily traceable by following proper labelling and inventory procedures.
• Perform routine checks of storage conditions to ensure sample quality.

Dispatch and logistics

• Prepare samples for shipment based on instructions from the Sample Technician Dispatcher.
• Pack and secure samples for safe transportation in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Assist with loading and unloading sample containers as required.

Inventory and Record-Keeping

• Update physical and digital records of sample inventory as directed.
• Assist in maintaining accurate logs of sample movements, storage locations, and dispatch details.

Safety and compliance

• Follow all safety protocols for handling and storing samples.
• Participate in safety briefings and report any observed hazards or issues.
• Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to site safety guidelines at all times.

Team management and collaboration

• Communicate effectively with the Sample Technician Dispatcher and other team members.
• Provide support to the drilling and logistics teams as needed.
• Contribute to a positive and cooperative work environment.
