The Opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the friendly and supportive team at Milton Ulladulla Hospital.
This role is ideal for nurses who enjoy variety, autonomy, and true rural nursing, all while living in a stunning coastal location.
The Emergency Department is a 6-bed unit managing a mix of medical, trauma, and seasonal tourist presentations, while the acute ward provides exposure to general medical, post-acute, palliative, and dialysis patients. You’ll be supported by experienced medical officers, a collaborative multidisciplinary team, and clear escalation pathways, while still enjoying the autonomy that comes with rural nursing.
This role is ideal for nurses who are confident with triage, acute assessments, IV therapy, and clinical decision-making, and who enjoy stepping between ED and ward environments. You’ll have the opportunity to build strong relationships within a small, friendly team, gain valuable rural experience, and enjoy a relaxed coastal lifestyle just minutes from the beach.
About the Hospital
Milton Ulladulla Hospital is a public rural acute facility operated by Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD), servicing the southern Shoalhaven region.
Hospital features include:
- 32 beds total (25 acute, 2 palliative, 7 dialysis chairs)
- 6-bed Emergency Department
- Operating theatre for minor procedures
- Dialysis and outpatient services
Your Role Will Include
- ED and acute patient assessments
- Managing ED presentations and inpatient acute care
- Cannulation, IV therapy, wound care, and medication administration
- Responding to clinical deterioration
- Working collaboratively with medical and allied health teams
- Rotating between ED and ward as required
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Current AHPRA registration
- Recent ED nursing experience
- ALS certification
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Ability to work autonomously in a rural hospital setting
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights
- Own vehicle required
