Java Developer

Contract: 6-Month Contract
Location & Work Model: London, UK | Hybrid (3 days per week in the office)
Rate: £550 - 600 Inside IR35
Security Clearance: SC Clearance Required

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Java Developer to work on scalable backend systems using modern engineering practices, Agile delivery, and cloud-native technologies.

As a Java Developer, you'll collaborate with architects, business analysts, QA teams and DevOps engineers to design, build and maintain secure, high-performing enterprise applications while contributing to the successful delivery of innovative technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java-based applications, backend services and RESTful APIs.
• Build scalable solutions using Java, Spring Boot, Spring MVC and microservices architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Support code reviews, testing, debugging and CI/CD delivery processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to application performance, stability and continuous improvement.

About You

• Proven experience as a Java Developer, Backend Developer or Full Stack Developer.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases (MySQL, Oracle or PostgreSQL).
• Experience with Git, Maven or Gradle, Jenkins and Agile delivery environments.
• SC Clearance (or eligibility to hold SC Clearance) is essential.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) is advantageous.
