Maintenance Manager (M/F) - Setúbal (BBBH668702) Grande Lisboa, Portugal

Kelly Engineering is currently looking for a Maintenance Manager for an industrial multinational client located in Setúbal, Portugal.

Main Purpose of Role

The Maintenance Manager is tasked with ensuring site and machine maintenance is on time and in budget, and overseeing works carried out on the facility. Working closely with the Engineering Manager, the Technical Manager plays a key role in the delivery of key departmental goals and objectives, ensuring that the Engineering staff remain motivated and focused at all times. The role is hands-on, with an expectation to investigate the root-cause of issues, correct and prevent re-occurrence

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all machines, ancillaries and equipment is available to run when required;
  • Ensuring adherence to Gratnells Quality and Safety systems;
  • Monitoring and measuring of machine reliability and performance;
  • Assisting with the implementation of the companies TPM strategy;
  • Championing 5S throughout the business;
  • Coaching and mentoring the apprentices and technicians;
  • Assessing the root-cause of breakdowns;
  • Implementation of corrective and preventative actions to ensure there is no repeat of issues;
  • Control of machine/equipment spares and consumables;
  • Co-ordinating machine & facilities services in accordance with required cadences;
  • Reviewing, enhancing, and refining production & Engineering processes to ensure they are lean and value-adding;
  • Active role in conceptualising and prototyping new products, technologies & innovations;
  • Determine the training needs of Operatives to ensure that they are suitably trained to complete their roles and responsibilities;
  • Delivery of continuous improvement projects.

Requirements:

  • Team Leading & People Management experience;
  • At least 1/2 years of experience as a Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Technician; 
  • Fluent in English; 
  • Assertive and proactive; 
  • Educated in Engineering disciplines;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with people at all levels within the company as well as clients and customers;
  • Working comprehension of the MS Suite of tools.
