Remote Contract Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: London
Rate: £35 – £40 per hour Limited Company Rate (Outside IR35)
Term: Approx. 12 months
We have an exciting project for a Mechanical Design contractor for the next 12 months (or longer) in London with a global company which manufactures bespoke products. This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for a complex research and development project. You will be required to design bespoke products in detail for a project that is anticipated to be for 12 months (or longer). Remote working is possible after the first few weeks.
Key skills required for the Mechanical Design Engineer:
- Design experience using Solidworks, AutoCAD or Inventor.
- Experience with designing products that are made by machining/CNC machines.
- Previous experience working on bespoke one off projects would be highly beneficial.
- Good understanding of design for manufacturing principals (DFM) / manufacturing processes.
- An understanding of project costs and other costs which are associated and impacted through design choices.
- Must be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
- An out of the box creative individual able to come up with solutions to new challenges.
- Should be able to work individually or within a team environment.
