KS2 SEN 1:1 Teaching Assistant - Mainstream Primary School

Responsibilities:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs within a Key Stage 2 classroom.
• Adapt lesson materials and activities to ensure the student can fully access the curriculum.
• Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages the student’s social and academic development.
• Monitor progress, record observations, and provide regular feedback to the teaching staff and parents.
• Support the student with emotional regulation and personal care where required, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) in an educational setting.
• Strong understanding of KS2 curriculum requirements and pedagogical approaches.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong rapport with students, staff, and families.
• Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Relevant childcare or education-related qualifications are highly desirable.
