We are recruiting on behalf of a leading defence and aerospace company dedicated to delivering cutting-edge solutions that drive innovation in the industry. They are seeking a skilled and experienced Manufacturing Technician to join their team in Basildon.
The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Electro-Mechanical Assembly and will be well-versed in soldering, crimping, wiring, and mechanical build.
As a Technician, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing and assembly of electrical and mechanical systems.
This is an initial 6 month contract position (inside IR35) with the opportunity for this to extend/become permanent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilise your experience in soldering, crimping, wiring, and mechanical build to assemble intricate electro-mechanical systems.
  • Work within a Defence/Aerospace environment to meet the demanding requirements of their products.
  • Adhere to IPC J-STD standards during soldering processes to ensure the integrity of assemblies.
  • Manufacture cable, wire, and harness assemblies to IPC 620 guidelines, paying meticulous attention to detail to ensure precision and quality.
  • Accurately interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams to assemble components and systems according to specifications.
  • Work with the quality team to address any non-conformance issues and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including engineers and designers, to ensure seamless integration of components and systems.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience as an assembly technician in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to accurately interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and challenging environment.


Applicants must be prepared to work as part of a team and be able to work unsupervised at times.
Must be a UK national, willing to undertake security vetting to SC level.
This role will require being on site 5 days a week. Monday to Friday, 37 hours 7.30am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday, 7.30am to 12.30pm o Fridays.
