IT Operations Manager – Infrastructure / Service Delivery – Swindon

IT Operations Manager required for a company based in Swindon to be responsible for providing support to the IT user community, delivering effective resolutions to technical and user IT issues, and providing an IT service that delivers to the business needs.  Whilst managing the function, services and providing an escalation point, the role will also be required to work on service tickets and incidents, alongside the team, to maintain an optimal level of service to the business; ensuring effective working across the full range of services delivered, liaising with the business, IT team, 3rd party suppliers and external contractors as required.

The salary on offer for this position is between £65,000 and £70,000 per annum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical administration and managing the day-to-day operations, supporting multi-site technical environments.
  • Ownership of security controls, regularly reviewing, maintaining, and strengthening the cyber defences to protect the business from security risks.
  • Managing the design, specification, and implementation of infrastructure to support the opening of new sites across the business.
  • Oversee the infrastructures asset management, ensuring that hardware, software, is maintained, patched, and replaced.
  • Ownership and development of governance, policies, process & procedures, such as IT policies, disaster recovery, incident Response procedures etc.
  • Manage the Service desk and response procedures in line with business agreed SLAs.
  • Maintain and develop good working relationships with colleagues, other managers, and suppliers.

 

Key Skills

  • Experience of outsourcing support services
  • Experience of setting up & managing a service delivery solution with tracked SLAs is essential.
  • Previous experience of managing an Infrastructure & Service Delivery Team.
  • Understanding and experience in the application of ITIL (ideally to version 4).
  • A person with a keen interest in driving continuous improvements with the aim of delivering service excellence to the user community.
  • A proactive approach to finding solutions through research, attention to detail, and ability to analyse evidence and data.
  • ITIL and PRINCE2 certifications, and experience of ISO9001/27001 frameworks (preferable)
