Senior IT Business Analyst – Kingston Upon Thames

 

Senior IT Business Analyst required for a leading company based in Kingston Upon Thames to be responsible for aiding in delivering high quality, companywide IT Projects that provide customer focused solutions.

The ideal candidate for this position will have worked within a Business Analyst role previously, have excellent C suite level stakeholder management skills, as this is a major part of the role, and have experience of a broad range of projects along with Agile and waterfall methodologies. Key Responsibilities

  • Determine the most suitable analysis approach for different pieces of work taking into consideration the business context, project complexity, proposed solution and overall project approach.
  • Lead the requirements definition and produce functional requirements definitions to assist with the selection of third-party application providers using industry standards and formal procurement processes.
  • Use appropriate industry standard business analysis methodologies to produce well-structured documentation in line with the agreed standards.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across the company to develop ideas through to Business Cases, showing the options available to address the business need and a cost benefit analysis.
  • Develop/maintain understanding of key business drivers/impacts, assisting clients with identifying and solving business challenges.
  • Work as a member of multi-functional project teams during all project implementation phases. Contribute to decisions at key stages and support project implementationg. solution evaluation, configuration, design, build, test, testing, business change management and early life support.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable professional engagement with stakeholders of all levels of seniority across the company.
  • Create and maintain version controlled documentation appropriate for all work undertaken to facilitate effective operational management and control of supported processes and services.
  • Deputise for the BA Team Manager and other colleagues, as required including attending public meetings and events to represent IT Services.

Key Skills

  • Experience of working in Business Analysis and Functional Analysis teams, and implementing standard processes for Business Analysis and Application Management including knowledge of Business Analysis methodologies (e.g. functional specifications, Use Cases, User Stories etc.)
  • Proven track record of Business Analysis involving complex IT and business change projects from conception to delivery applying a variety of analysis and modelling techniques.
  • Experience of developing business ideas into viable Business Case Documents, showing available options and a cost benefit analysis to enable sound decision making.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with experience of engaging with stakeholders at different levels within the organisation with the ability to influence outcomes.
  • Knowledge of working with both traditional and agile delivery methodologies.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of requirements engineering using a variety of techniques to capture user and system requirements.
  • Demonstrates an in-depth understanding of the technological, process and people issues associated with implementing new IT systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Business Process Improvement techniques and management.
  • Strong working knowledge of data modelling and process modelling using UML and BPMN.
  • Exposure to collaborative technologies and architectures such as SharePoint, Portals, Web technologies, etc.

Salary: £44,000 and £52,700 per annum plus benefits.
