Over the next 18 months we are replacing our outgoing Drupal Content Management System with a new state of the art Java based CMS named Brightspot. The replacement project will involve rebuilding many of our customer facing products and ensuring that the CMS integrates with our existing core systems and provides a solid reliable API to deliver content to our trusted brands.
You will be involved with developing our future content data model and re-architecting our infrastructure and platform to deliver excellent unique content. You will be working with API’s that will be able to serve internal and third-party publishing platforms such as our websites, apps, AMP, Apple News and the On Demand video streaming platform.
As part of the project, we’re deprecating many of our legacy systems and code bases and looking to rebuild by selecting the right languages, the right databases and right AWS services for the tasks at hand. It’s a great opportunity to join a motivated team working with new greenfield projects. The project will revolutionise the way that our team of 500+ editorial users create digital content that will enrich the experience of our millions of readers and viewers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 3+ years proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of developing using Object Oriented Programming principles.
- Very good experience using Java in web based environments.
- In-depth knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB)
