Senior Scientist - Molecular Biology/Virology (CM-SENSCI-00002) Oxford, England

An Oxford-based biotechnology company is seeking a molecular biologist/virologist to join a team focused on viral vectored vaccine research and development.

As a Senior Scientist, you will work under the guidance of the R&D director to develop new vectors and new methods to generate recombinant viral vectors, construct and characterise shuttle plasmids for the generation of recombinant viral vectors, clone adenoviral genomes into plasmids, recover viruses from cell cultures transfected with plasmids, and characterise rescued viruses using genomic sequencing.

Essential requirements for this role:

  • PhD qualification with demonstrable relevant experience in a related field (e.g. Virology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology or Biochemistry);
  • Solid background in either molecular virology with extensive cloning experience or viral vector engineering;
  • Meticulous bench working habits, precise record-keeping and strong organisational skills;
  • Extensive interpersonal and management skills.
