Permanent Nights – Tuesday-Friday (18:00-05:00)

Our client is a leading fresh food processing & packaging manufacturer, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to continued customer growth they are looking for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to support their night shift operation.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Provide front line engineering support to all food processing, production & packaging machinery
• Prioritise breakdowns on shift to get machinery up and running as safely and quickly as possible
• Carrying out both electrical & mechanical fault finding & routine maintenance plans
• Keep machinery working to the designed output efficiency
• Monitor computer systems to determine efficiencies & development of systems
• Working on facilities and site services maintenance daily
• Regular PPM and scheduled maintenance and improvement works

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Need to be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer
• Essential to have at least City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in engineering as a minimum
• Desirable to have completed a time-served-apprenticeship
• Comfortable working as sole engineer on night shift, make effective decision on own initiative
• Have at least 5 years’ experience in food / FMCG manufacturing
• Experienced in high-volume, fast moving environment, supplying into retailer outlets
• Flexible character working closely with production staff
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Must have worked on high-speed food production, packaging & processing machinery
• Ideally have dealt with conveyors, motors, strappers, palletisers, bucket fillers, weighers etc.
• Able to organise and manage own time when on shift
• Proven experience of continuous improvement activities
• PLC – electrical fault-finding skills
• Strong electrical & mechanical problem-solving skills
• Desirable to have 18th Edition electrical
• Must be health & safety aware, qualified IOSH ideally
• Bonus if can do mechanical fabrication / fitting & welding

Shifts & Benefits Package:

• Shift:- Tuesday – Friday (18:00-05:00)
• Salary:- £40,000 + Overtime
