Our client is an established food manufacturer, part of a larger global group, with multiple sites worldwide. Due to growth & CI Projects at the site, they are looking for a number of Environmental, Health & Safety Advisors to join their expanding team.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Support and drive the health & safety function for a first class food manufacturing site, providing professional advice, supporting CI site based projects and overall group CAPEX projects.
  • Advise & support all health safety, environmental & compliance
  • Look at ways to improve EHS processes & procedures
  • Focus on keeping everyone safe and reduce any injuries
  • Monitor and maintain compliance within UK & EU legislation & ISO standards
  • Be on the shopfloor, assessing areas of improvements, providing H&S training, toolbox talks, inductions
  • Consult with external bodies, audit departmental procedures, RIDDOR reporting, fire & accident investigations
  • Understand the site environmental permits and regulations – becoming experts in this field
  • Issue and approve safety permits, confined space, RAMS, hot work permits

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must have knowledge of UK & EU environmental and health & safety standards/codes of practice
  • Worked to ISO 14001 & ISO 45001 Standards
  • Min 2-3 years experience in a similar EHS role
  • Must have worked in manufacturing – food, FMCG, pharmaceutical
  • Very dynamic and varied role, need to be on the shopfloor – this is not a desk type opportunity
  • Need to be a resilient, robust & confident character – able to influence positive change management
  • Health & safety continuous improvement project experience, CAPITAL & CAPEX
  • Experience of implementing new health & safety procedures and standards
  • Managing EHS Management Systems – ISO 14001 / 45001
  • Safety auditing, compliance and regulation implementation experience
  • Must have a NEBOSH qualification
  • If worked in a ATEX / CompEX environment would be beneficial
  • Experience of RIDDOR reporting, incident investigation, RCA, auditing
