£47,500 + Overtime

12hr Perma Nights Shifts – 4on 4off (6-6)

 

Our client is an industrial processing business, part of a larger group, with multiple sites in the UK. Due to an increase in headcount within their engineering team, they are looking for a night shift engineer, with an electrical bias.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • To carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, installation, improvement and modification or upgrade of plant, fully automated production & packaging machinery and site services.
  • Drive continuous improvements & process improvement work
  • Steam & boiler system maintenance
  • Follow PPM schedules efficiently & effectively
  • Carry out project work –installation & modification
  • Electrical fault finding & modifications of PLC’s, HMi’s, SCADA Systems and Control Panels
  • Mechanical repair and fault finding
  • Working on hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, motors, contactors, inverters, sensors, drives, valves
  • Upkeep and alteration of electrical & mechanical drawings
  • Engineering stores management & parts ordering

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Multi-Skilled Engineer – but must be electrically biased (70/30 or 60/40)
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Engineering – Time-served Apprenticeship
  • Ideally be qualified to City & Guilds / ONC / HNC in Electrical Engineering
  • Excellent problem solving & fault diagnosis skills
  • Comfortable working permanent nights shifts, sometimes unsupervised
  • Knowledge of production environment, continuous improvements & development
  • Both strong electrical & mechanical fault finding and repair skills
  • Must have worked in fast-paced environment – FMCG manufacturing/production
  • Have experience of working on boilers & steam systems
  • Worked on PLC systems, Control Panels, HMi’s & SCADA Systems
  • Beneficial to have electrical safety knowledge of isolations and electrical H&S standards
  • Must have worked on high-speed automated production machinery
  • Bonus if have 17th / 18th Edition
  • Knowledge of health & safety standards
