Salary: GBP36000 - GBP38000 per annum + Benefits

Our client is a leading industrial manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to retirement next year, they are looking for an Instrumentation Technician to work closely and train with this person.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Calibrate and maintain the site process & service instrumentation
  • Dealing with pressure vessels, instrumentation, PLC’s, liquid processing, utilities, weighing systems
  • Part of the overall site maintenance team, supporting automation, electrical & mechanical engineers, with PPM’s, reactive and plant availability
  • Ensure equipment is compliant with process safety management – inspection & testing
  • A very proactive position, focusing on PPM’s, servicing & calibration
  • Undertake ATEX inspections & installations
  • Ensure that all maintenance & calibration records are up-to-date for internal & external auditing
  • Provide support to the PLC and automation team – fault finding
  • Able to manufacture and source various parts from suppliers when needed

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • At least 10 years’ experience in instrumentation calibration and routine maintenance
  • Must be a driven and enthusiastic character, flexible and willing to bring in new ideas
  • Ideally have worked in manufacturing – pharmaceuticals, chemicals, beverage, oil & gas
  • NVQ Level 3 engineering qualified as minimum – instrumentation / electrical / controls
  • PLC – electrical fault finding skills
  • Must be very numerical & date focussed, with could record keeping & timekeeping skills
  • Knowledge of ATEX regulations would be beneficial & qualified
  • Team player – willing to help out in all areas within the maintenance team
  • Must have an understanding of SAP, PPM, engineering safety regulations for instrumentation
  • 17th or 18th Edition would be beneficial
