Our client is a leading special purpose materials manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a larger group with multiple sites in the UK, this is one of their flagship operations. They are looking for a maintenance engineer that is strong biased towards mechanical.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for reactive & planned maintenance across all areas of engineering
  • Mechanical and electrical fault finding / problem solving on machinery/equipment
  • Working on a variety of special purpose machinery, vacuum systems, industrial processing equipment, lighting & power systems, conveyors, ovens, heat treatment machinery
  • PLC – electrical fault finding
  • Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding & manual machining of parts/repairs
  • Reading and following circuit and electrical & mechanical diagrams
  • Carry out PPM schedules and update records
  • Conducting machine/equipment testing and procedure improvements

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must be a mechanically biased engineer
  • Experience of working in manufacturing / production industries
  • Must be an experienced / time-served mechanical maintenance engineer
  • Qualified ideally to ONC/HNC mechanical engineering
  • Must be able to fault find / problem solve down to electronic component level
  • Mechanical fabrication, fitting & welding skills
  • Manual machining – able to make parts & repairs
  • RF experience desirable
  • High voltage experience would be great – AC / DC power supplies
  • Good soldering skills would be beneficial
  • Team player with a get stuck in attitude
  • PLC knowledge desirable
  • Able to make own decisions and plan own workload accordingly
