Multi-Skilled Day Shift Maintenance Engineer
Southern Cambridgeshire
Commutable from – Cambridge, Peterborough, Huntingdon, Bedford, Chatteris, St. Neots
£40,900 + Overtime
4on 4off 12hr Permanent Days

Our client is a leading food packaging manufacturer, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to continued growth and a recently built new unit, they are looking to expand their team with additional multi-skilled maintenance engineers working on a rotating day shift.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Engineering support to all food production, processing & packaging machinery, PLC’s, controls, conveyor systems, steam cookers, Multivac systems and site services
• Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
• Keep machinery working to the designed output efficiency
• Monitor computer systems to determine efficiencies & development of systems
• Assist in installation, commissioning of new equipment when necessary for projects
• Dismantle and re-assemble all production equipment
• Propose improvements to all equipment in order to improve reliability and efficiency
• Regular PPM and scheduled maintenance and improvement works

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Must be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer – both electrical & mechanical skills
• Have completed a recognised apprenticeship in engineering
• Track record of electrical control, including PLC’s, contactors, relays, robotics & SCADA systems
• Qualified to ONC/HNC level in engineering
• Beneficial to have 17th or 18th edition electrical
• Have experience of working with automated production lines, packaging machinery & conveyors
• Must have worked in a food manufacturing environment, FMCG or production industry
• Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a close-knit team
• Experience of working on Multivac’s, steam cookers & cartonners would be great
• Ideally knowledge of Six Sigma & lean manufacturing practices
• Be a self-motivated individual and able to work in a strong team culture

• Shift:- 4on 4off 12hr Permanent Day Shift
• Salary:- £40,900 + Regular Overtime
