Our client is a leading manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to growth within the engineering team they are looking for a Maintenance Supervisor.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Carrying out PPM, reactive & predictive maintenance/breakdown analysis
  • 75% hands on / 25% admin duties
  • Leading a team of X5 maintenance engineers + X2 apprentices
  • Dealing with industrial processing & manufacturing equipment
  • Working on such machinery / systems as:- conveyors, silos, blowers, presses, baggers, production equipment, mixers, industrial control systems, elevators, PLC’s, fillers, robotics, 415V ac
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding, analysis & repair
  • Part of the 1 in 4 week call out rota (24/7)
  • Inventory control – manage stores, ordering spares & parts, supplier negotiation
  • Planning & scheduling workload, monitoring PPM plans
  • Collate & report on data for creation of daily KPi’s for the engineering team
  • Issue work permits and supervisor contractors on site

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must be a multi-skilled engineer – electrically biased
  • Have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship – NVQ Level 3 or higher
  • Be a problem solver, approachable, with good prioritisation skills
  • Able to react to breakdowns effectively, safely and efficiently
  • Both electrical & mechanical fault-finding capabilities
  • Need to be comfortable working in confined spaces, heights, and using breathing equipment
  • Ideally have worked in food, FMCG, industrial fast-paced manufacturing
  • Flexible character – willing to partake in an on-call-rota, work extra hours if needed
  • Experience of heavy industrial manufacturing equipment/systems
  • Worked on compressors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, chains, belts, blowers, rollers
  • PLC – electrical fault finding skills
