Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK, this is one of their flagship growing operations. They are looking for a passionate, eager & driven junior controls engineer that is keen to learn, train & develop.

 

 Role & Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with 2 experienced controls engineers daily, with a strong route of training, development, progression to gain further qualifications
  • Develop & upskill within the controls / automation systems side of engineering
  • Will involve with training – programming, development & fault finding on PLC’s, HMi’s, servo motion drives and network systems
  • Robotics – ABB & Fanuc – upgrades & installations
  • Electrical installations, wiring, testing & inspections
  • Working alongside controls engineers & shift maintenance engineers to improve, maintain and repair plant machinery & production equipment
  • Follow electrical safety standards & procedures
  • Some shift work required to support shift engineers

  

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Role is going to suit someone that has recently completed apprenticeship, qualified to HNC / HND level in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
  • Must have a passion for controls / automation and want to follow this career path
  • Eager and driven character who is willing to learn and develop
  • Must have a grounding understanding of PLC systems
  • Ideally have worked in a fast-paced / time sensitive manufacturing environment
  • Beneficial to have 18th Edition
  • Preferably have completed a time-served-apprenticeship
  • Ideally have electrical engineering / safety background
  • Electrical wiring, installations, testing & inspection experience
  • Worked on projects, machine upgrades and continuous improvements
  • Robotics – ABB / Fanuc and network systems knowledge would be beneficial
  • Dealt with servo motion drives / HMi’s
