Salary: GBP42000 - GBP45000 per annum + Benefits

Maintenance Engineer
North Hampshire / Surrey (GU12)

Commutable from – Basingstoke, Farnham, Woking Guildford, Aldershot, Reading, Farnborough

Monday-Friday 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm

£42,000–£45,000 + Overtime

Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to growth and investment in the site, they are looking for 2 additional maintenance engineers – ideally mechanically biased.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Working in a small team of engineers, responsible for providing engineering services to ensure high levels of machine availability, efficiency, reliability, safety & quality standards
  • Dealing with a variety of conveyors, production & packaging machinery, site services and automation
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding, repairs of breakdowns and PPM schedules
  • Working sometimes on shift unsupervised
  • Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding and machining
  • Assist in project work – continuous improvements, new machine installations and upgrades
  • Electrical fault finding on safety circuits, motors
  • Provide long-term solutions to continuously improve machine reliability

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must be a mechanically biased engineer
  • Need to have some electrical fault finding skills on safety circuits, motors etc.
  • Ideally have completed a time-served-apprenticeship
  • Must have worked in manufacturing / FMCG / fast-paced environment
  • Able to read electrical & mechanical drawings
  • Need to have a get stuck in attitude, working in a small engineering team, sometimes unsupervised
  • Previous experience of conveyors, chains, belt driven machinery, rotating equipment
  • Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding, machining experience
  • PLC – electrical fault finding skills would be great
  • Ideally level 3 qualified in engineering discipline
