Our client is a leading manufacturer of special purpose machinery provided into the agricultural & commercial markets. With a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards for machinery development, they are looking for a passionate and driven design engineer to join their design team.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Working in a small team of design engineers, creating design for new machinery, NPD and developing existing design of machines for manufacture
  • Design & implementation of new products
  • Creating and maintaining Bill Of Materials (BOM’s)
  • Create technical specifications, to include pipework, flow diagrams & GA’s
  • Using AutoCAD 3D SolidWorks to design new machinery
  • Create one off design of special purpose agricultural machinery
  • Produce technical specifications and drawings to the highest professional quality
  • Perform calculations & testing using FEA analysis of parts
  • Handling multiple projects in a team environment
  • Creation of parts on an MRP system

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must have CAD design experience in using SolidWorks
  • Proven experience in product design and development
  • HNC / HND qualified as a minimum
  • High attention to detail, with a passion for engineering
  • Experience of working in a design for manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Similar machine design experience in agriculture, forestry, automotive, ground care, construction
  • Beneficial to have experience of design & integration of hydraulic systems
  • Must have an understanding of geometric dimensioning, tolerances and material selection
  • Able to work well under pressure, handling multiple projects in a team environment
  • FEA experience
  • Desirable to have experience of electrical control systems
  • IT literate – Excel, Word, 3D CAD, ERP
  • Good problem solving skills, confident and able
