Production Manager

Essex

Commutable from Chelmsford, Colchester, Braintree, Sudbury, Halstead, Bishops Stortford
£40,000–£45,000

Monday – Friday Days

Our client is a leading building products manufacturer, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to growth within the business they are looking for an experienced production manager to lead their factory operations team.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of around 25 production staff
• Leading the team from the factory/shopfloor but also office based
• Maintain and monitor health & safety standards/procedures
• Organising and allocating daily tasks to the production supervisor/foreman
• Look at ways to improve process, working closely with directors
• Maintain required production output / KPi’s
• Produce accurate quantity and quality reports
• Attend internal progress meetings
• Deal with suppliers and liaise with procurement regarding placing orders
• Motivate the team, provide ongoing support and training plans

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Must have come from a technical background, ideally within building products manufacturing on the construction industry
• Proven experience in a production management role is essential
• Strong personality, with the ability to lead a team and keep staff motivated
• Effective and confident communicator / leader
• Computer literate – reporting and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• High level of attention to detail
• Dynamic adaptable to change as things move quickly with customers
• Knowledge of health & safety, quality quality
• Able to report to director / board level
