£50,000 (Rising to £55,000 after probation) + Overtime

Shifts:- 12hr Panama Days & Nights

Our client is a leading FMCG manufacturing business, part of a global business that is vastly expanding its products base. They are looking for an experienced multi-skilled shift engineer to join their growing engineering department

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Working as part of a large team of 20 shift engineers, 4-5 per shift
  • Carry out daily PPM’s and reactive engineering maintenance
  • Dealing with a variety of high-speed production & packaging machinery, conveyor systems, automation & control systems, robotics, processing equipment
  • PLC & control panels – electrical fault finding
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs
  • Undertake small continuous improvement project work
  • Drive lean manufacturing & 5S tasks
  • Support the site services team when needed, helping with work on steam & water systems
  • Dealing with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, servo drives, inverters, gearboxes
  • Managing on site contractors when needed
  • Complete progress reports for PPM’s on SAP systems

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must be a multi-skilled engineer, confident fault finding both electrically & mechanically
  • 17th or 18th Edition
  • NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 qualified in electrical / mechanical engineering
  • Must have worked for at least 5-10 years in high-care food & FMCG manufacturing
  • Apprenticeship trained
  • Worked in a fast-paced environment, able to reactive to breakdowns efficiently & effectively
  • Team player – happy to help out in all areas when needed
  • Ideally have experience of dealing with small CI projects
  • Able to use SAP and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing & Six Sigma / 5S methodologies
  • Must be able to fault find on PLC’s and control panels
  • Able to complete risk assessments
  • Physically fit, able to work at heights and in confined spaces
  • Dealt with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, cooling systems
