Commutable from – Grays, Romford, Pufleet, Basildon, Southend-On-Sea, Wickford

12hr Shifts – 4on 4off Days & Nights (6-6)

£40,000 – £41,000

Our client is a leading food manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for an experienced Distribution Team Leader for their depot operations team.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for running the daily depot operations by leading, motivating and developing the driver team members
  • Ensure that products are planned, safely loaded and deliver to customers
  • Work closely with the vehicle maintenance team to ensure maximum fleet availability & compliance
  • Make sure all TACO’s and vehicle check lists are up to date
  • Maintain low cost base, legal compliance, health & safety and company standards
  • Able to work autonomously on own initiative and unsupervised
  • Reacting to customer orders, through route planning, forecasting & legal documentation
  • Maintain driver compliance
  • Labour utilisation – making use of company drivers and 3rd party agency staff
  • Create and maintain traffic plans and purchase orders
  • Ensure that any vehicle service issues/requirements are addressed promptly

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must be self-motivated, strong and effective communicator
  • Hold an LGV Class 1 driving licence
  • Have high attention to detail and effective decision making skills
  • Health & safety awareness essential
  • Ideally have worked in distribution within food manufacturing
  • Vehicle / transport route planning & compliance experience – TACO’s, WTD’s etc.
  • PC Literate – Excel & PowerPoint
  • Supervisory and leadership experience in distribution/transport
  • Must have a track record of making own decisions
  • Previously worked in customer focused environments – able to adapt to customer demands/orders
