Shift Maintenance Engineer
North Kent

Commutable from – Rochester, Dartford, Erith, Sevenoaks, Maidstone, Swanley, Gravesend
Up to £45k + Night Shift Allowance (£49k OTE)

Monday-Friday 3-Shift – 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm / 10pm-6am

Our client is a leading food manufacturer, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to recent expansion at the site, they are looking for an experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join their close knit team.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Carry out electrical & mechanical PPM, breakdowns and continuous improvement work
• Working on industrial processing equipment, food production & packaging machinery, automated warehouse systems
• Will be a sole engineer working on shift, supported by production staff
• Electrical & mechanical fault finding, troubleshooting and problem solving
• PPM’s & visual checks, machine modifications & factory improvements
• PLC – electrical fault finding
• Recalibration of instrumentation and realignment of mechanical components
• Mechanical fabrication, fitting, welding
• Ensure that all plant assets are maintained to high standards to maximise efficiencies

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer – strong electrical & mechanical fault finding
• Comfortable and confident with working on your own on shift
• Must have some form of mechanical qualifications
• Minimum qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 engineering
• Ideally HNC / HND qualified
• Able to work well under pressure, good problem solving skills
• Must have worked in either food, FMCG or packaging manufacturing
• PLC – electrical fault finding capabilities
• Able to complete paperwork on computer based CMMS systems
• Any experience of network systems would be great – ethernet, profibus, modibus etc.
• Beneficial to have worked on instrumentation – fault finding
• Be a team player and a motivated individual
