Maintenance Engineer

East London (E16)

Monday-Friday Days (7am-3pm)

£48,000 + Overtime

Our client is an established food manufacturer, part of a larger global group, with multiple sites worldwide. Due to growth & CI Projects at the site, they are looking for a new maintenance engineer to join their production & packaging team.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Carry out planned, reactive maintenance and safety checks on all high-speed food production lines, packaging machinery, conveyors, metal detectors, labellers, baggers, checkweighers, PLC’s, control panels, robotics, depositors
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding, repairs, stripdowns & overhauls
  • Working on motors, gearboxes, VSD’s, inverters, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, drives, bearings
  • Improving plant availability, reliability and continuous improvement work
  • Monitor contractors on site, ordering spares & parts

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer
  • MUST have completed a recognised apprenticeship
  • HNC / HND qualified in Engineering
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills
  • Previously have dealt with industrial processing & equipment and manufacturing systems
  • Must have worked in a similar food manufacturing or FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of electrical safety isolation procedures would be beneficial
  • Must have worked on motors, sensors, inverters, gearboxes, VSD’s, pneumatics, drives
  • Experience of using SAP would be beneficial
  • Advantageous if worked with PLC systems
  • Any experience of working in an ATEX / CompEX environment would be great
