£38,000 + Overtime  

Monday-Friday 14:00-22:00

Our client is a leading one of the UK’s leading food manufacturers, part of a larger global group. They supply into all the major supermarkets and majority of foodservice outlets. Due to growth within the company they are looking for a number of multi-skilled maintenance engineer to join their team.

 

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Carry out both planned & reactive maintenance across all manufacturing & production areas
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
  • Dealing with high-speed production lines, food processing & packaging machinery
  • PLC – electrical fault finding
  • Project work – continuous improvements, machine rebuilds, modifications/upgrades
  • Worked on pneumatics, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, inverters, sensors, drives, pumps
  • Monitoring & reporting on machine efficiencies, reliability and machine condition monitoring
  • Reporting on machinery or component defects on the CMMS system
  • Ensure that shift handover information is passed on effectively
  • Contact OEM’s and suppliers for ordering spares, parts and reporting aftercare issues
  • Coaching operators on asset care tasks on machinery

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer
  • Qualified to NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3 in Engineering
  • Ideally have completed a time-served apprenticeship
  • Must have worked in food manufacturing/production previously
  • Beneficial to be trained on Multivac machinery
  • PLC – electrical fault finding experience
  • Solid mechanical experience with machine breakdowns and repairs
  • Competent and confident with both electrical & mechanical fault finding and problem solving
  • Understand food safety and hygiene regulations & standards
  • Must have the ability and willingness to train quickly and learn new things
  • Effective communicator
  • Have used CMMS systems before
  • Must have access to your own transportation / car to be able to get to site daily
