Multi-Skilled Night Shift Maintenance Engineer
Southern Cambridgeshire 

Commutable from – Cambridge, Peterborough, Huntingdon, Bedford, Chatteris, St. Neots
£48,500 + Overtime

4on 4off 12hr Permanent Nights

Our client is a leading food packaging manufacturer, with a reputation for product quality which is second to none and industry leading standards. Due to continued growth they are looking for a Multi-Skilled Night Shift Maintenance Engineer, to come on board to support existing operations apart of their night shift team. 

Role & Responsibilities:

• Engineering support to all food production, processing & packaging machinery, PLC’s, controls, conveyor systems and automated robot systems
• Electrical & mechanical fault finding & repairs
• Keep machinery working to the designed output efficiency
• Monitor computer systems to determine efficiencies & development of systems
• Assist in installation, commissioning of new equipment when necessary for projects
• Dismantle and re-assemble all production equipment
• Propose improvements to all equipment in order to improve reliability and efficiency
• Regular PPM and scheduled maintenance and improvement works

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Must be a multi-skilled maintenance engineer – both electrical & mechanical skills
• Track record of electrical control, including PLC’s, contactors, relays, robotics & SCADA systems
• Qualified to ONC/HNC level in engineering
• Must have 17^th or 18^th edition electrical
• Have experience of working with automated production lines, packaging machinery & conveyors
• Must have worked in a food manufacturing environment, FMCG or production industry
• Be able to work on own initiative and as part of a close-knit team
• Ideally knowledge of Six Sigma & lean manufacturing practices
• Must have completed a recognised apprenticeship
• Be a self-motivated individual and able to work in a strong team culture

Shifts & Benefits Package:

• Shift:- 4 on 4off 12hr Permanent Nights   
• Salary:- £48,500 + Regular Overtime
