Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality, which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for an experienced HSE Manager to built upon all things H&S related and maintain the site environmental policies.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Responsible for the management of the Health, Safety & Environmental systems across the manufacturing site, whilst promoting group level processes & procedures
  • Working closely with other leadership departmental managers to drive & lead HSE strategies
  • Create a site safety deployment plan and carry out safety inspections & audits
  • Risk assessments, SSoW, assess safe machinery operations & practices
  • Control & monitor hazardous substance, work equipment & manual-handling operations, PPE
  • Manage the ISO14001 Environmental Management System
  • Report on accident, incident and near miss statistics
  • Make sure the site is compliant and up-to-date with all governing H&S policies & procedures
  • Provide health & safety training & toolbox talks

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must have worked in a manufacturing industry
  • At least 5 years+ in a similar HSE managerial position
  • Strong influencing & communication skills
  • Able to create new H&S procedures and policies
  • Be a proactive and approachable individual
  • Experienced in managing an ISO14001 Environmental Management System
  • Must have a NEBOSH General Certificate (Minimum Qualification)
  • Experienced in safety & legal compliance for manufacturing
  • Able to create risk assessments and SSoW
  • Qualified auditor is desirable
  • Experience of BRC & ISO Standards
  • Able to train, coach people
  • IOSH Health & Safety
