Our client is a leading packaging manufacturer, part of a multi-billion-pound global group, with a reputation for product quality, which is second to none and industry leading standards. They are looking for an experienced HSE Manager to built upon all things H&S related and maintain the site environmental policies.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the management of the Health, Safety & Environmental systems across the manufacturing site, whilst promoting group level processes & procedures
- Working closely with other leadership departmental managers to drive & lead HSE strategies
- Create a site safety deployment plan and carry out safety inspections & audits
- Risk assessments, SSoW, assess safe machinery operations & practices
- Control & monitor hazardous substance, work equipment & manual-handling operations, PPE
- Manage the ISO14001 Environmental Management System
- Report on accident, incident and near miss statistics
- Make sure the site is compliant and up-to-date with all governing H&S policies & procedures
- Provide health & safety training & toolbox talks
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Must have worked in a manufacturing industry
- At least 5 years+ in a similar HSE managerial position
- Strong influencing & communication skills
- Able to create new H&S procedures and policies
- Be a proactive and approachable individual
- Experienced in managing an ISO14001 Environmental Management System
- Must have a NEBOSH General Certificate (Minimum Qualification)
- Experienced in safety & legal compliance for manufacturing
- Able to create risk assessments and SSoW
- Qualified auditor is desirable
- Experience of BRC & ISO Standards
- Able to train, coach people
