Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK and are looking for an Engineering Team Leader to lead their shift engineers.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

 

  • Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all high-speed production & packaging machinery
  • Electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving and repairs
  • PLC – electrical fault finding
  • PPM planning, workload scheduling, CMMS system management, attend meetings, contractor management, toolbox audits, set KPi’s, monitor shift performance
  • Promote a health & safety conscious environment
  • Continuous improvement projects
  • Dealing with motors, servo drives, contactors, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, inverters
  • Management of stores, ordering of spares & parts when needed

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

 

  • Must be a strong man-manager, leader & coach
  • Able to make decisions effectively and prioritise tasks
  • NVQ Level 3 engineering or maintenance minimum
  • Effective communicator, approachable and dependable character
  • Ideally have previously been team leader / supervisor
  • Must have completed a time-served-apprenticeship, with 5+ years experience outside of it
  • Strong electrical & mechanical problem solving skills
  • Ideally have worked in food manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of PLC’s, automation & control systems, HMi’s beneficial
  • Knowledge of food safety / hygiene beneficial
  • Continuous improvement mentality
