Our client is a leading food manufacturer, that values hard work, teamwork and developing people. They are part of a global group with multiple sites in the UK and are looking for an Engineering Team Leader to lead their shift engineers.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance of all high-speed production & packaging machinery
- Electrical & mechanical fault finding, problem solving and repairs
- PLC – electrical fault finding
- PPM planning, workload scheduling, CMMS system management, attend meetings, contractor management, toolbox audits, set KPi’s, monitor shift performance
- Promote a health & safety conscious environment
- Continuous improvement projects
- Dealing with motors, servo drives, contactors, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, inverters
- Management of stores, ordering of spares & parts when needed
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Must be a strong man-manager, leader & coach
- Able to make decisions effectively and prioritise tasks
- NVQ Level 3 engineering or maintenance minimum
- Effective communicator, approachable and dependable character
- Ideally have previously been team leader / supervisor
- Must have completed a time-served-apprenticeship, with 5+ years experience outside of it
- Strong electrical & mechanical problem solving skills
- Ideally have worked in food manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of PLC’s, automation & control systems, HMi’s beneficial
- Knowledge of food safety / hygiene beneficial
- Continuous improvement mentality
