MANUFACTURING SITE MANAGER

This Medical Device Company is looking for a Manufacturing Site Manager to join their growing team and lead the production facility of the Class III active implantable medical devices, in Oxfordshire, UK. This pioneering medical device company is dedicated to transforming the lives of patients through the next generation smart neuromodulation implantables.

The Role
The Manufacturing Site Manager will be the driving force behind the production facility. As a senior leader in this onsite role, you will shape a safe, engaged and high-performing environment while ensuring the facility consistently delivers compliant, efficient and reliable manufacturing operations.
Working at the intersection of operations and people leadership, you will turn strategy into action: aligning production with clinical, R&D and commercial priorities, accelerating delivery timelines and continuously improving quality and cost performance. You will build capability across the manufacturing team, developing a confident team, setting clear expectations and creating a culture of ownership and collaboration.
This role blends operational excellence with cultural leadership. You will translate business goals into daily behaviours, optimise processes and resources, and ensure infrastructure and equipment support scalable growth — all while maintaining strong regulatory compliance. A visible, hands-on presence at the Oxfordshire site is essential to lead and look after the team and their performance, solve problems quickly and keep momentum high.

REQUIREMENTS:
Maintain adherence to quality standards, manage deviations and CAPAs, and ensure audit readiness
Promote a strong safety and quality culture, managing risks, incidents and corrective actions
Manage site budget, monitor operational KPIs and deliver regular performance reporting
Oversee inventory control, waste reduction and operational cost efficiency
Maintain facility and equipment readiness, coordinating maintenance, repairs and site upgrades
Act as primary on-site contact for suppliers, visitors and audits, communicating performance, risks and improvement plans to senior leadership

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Essential
Technical, engineering, or operations-related degree or vocational qualification or equivalent experience
Experience in regulated manufacturing environments (e.g., ISO, GMP, FDA, or similar)
Proven experience in a manufacturing leadership role (Site Manager, Production Manager, or similar)
Experience managing small teams in a production environment
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operational KPIs
Exposure to risk management activities (pFMEA or dFMEA) and the impact of risk management on validation strategies
Experience in taking an active role in notified body or FDA audits
Excellent knowledge of health & safety and quality principles
Hands-on, pragmatic leadership style
Desirable
Experience of the planning, execution and control of a medical device or a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Professional designations such as Six Sigma Green Belt, Lean techniques, Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) are highly valued.
Experience of FDA quality system compliance is advantageous
