HGV Class 1 Driver – Nottingham

Gi Group is recruiting reliable Class 1 Drivers to support the distribution network of a leading pharmaceutical client. If you’re safety-focused, experienced with long-distance routes and flexible with shift patterns, we want to hear from you.

Key details

• Location: Nottingham (operations from Beeston)
• Working days: Thursday to Monday
• Start window: between 13:00 and 23:00

Pay rates

• Weekdays: £17.25/hr
• Week nights: £18.37/hr
• Weekends: £23.19/hr
• Overtime payable
• Rates include holiday pay (PAYE without advanced holiday pay also available)

Essential requirements

• Category C+E licence, valid Digi-tacho and CPC
• Minimum 12 months’ Class 1 driving experience
• Clean driving record (no more than 6 penalty points, subject to endorsement codes)

Key responsibilities

• Complete pre- and post-trip vehicle checks to ensure safety and compliance
• Deliver pharmaceutical consignments from Beeston to distribution centres across the UK
• Load/unload where required, following client procedures and secure handling protocols
• Comply with all company and client health & safety standards and documentation

Skills and attributes

• Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions under time-sensitive schedules
• Confident operating Class 1 vehicles in varied depot environments
• Willingness to cross-train for tug/shunter duties when required
• Basic record-keeping and familiarity with digital tacho systems
