Are you an experienced leader in the field of transport and logistics? We're thrilled to present a fantastic career opportunity for a Senior Transport Supervisor on behalf of our client, a prominent wholesaler in the south east. In this role, you will step into a pivotal position within a thriving organisation at their brand new warehouse. You would be overseeing the seamless operation of a substantial fleet and ensuring the satisfaction of a dedicated team of drivers.
Hours: 6am – 6pm on a 4 on/4 off rota.
Salary: Up to £35,000 based on experience
Key Responsibilities:
As the Senior Transport Supervisor, you will lead by example and take charge of the day-to-day operations. Your role will encompass a range of duties, including but not limited to:
•Ensuring all drivers have the necessary paperwork and follow best practices.
•Providing guidance and support to a team of dedicated drivers.
•Handling inquiries from both customers and drivers
•Acting as a bridge between drivers and the office
•Conducting interviews and assisting with recruitment
•Overseeing performance evaluations and probation reviews.
•Monitoring and managing absence procedures in line with company policies.
•Offering support to drivers and completing deliveries when required.
Qualifications and Qualities:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:
•Proven experience in leading a transport/logistics team.
•Exceptional communication skills, both within your team and across various departments.
•A positive and proactive mindset, capable of motivating your team to succeed.
•Strong planning and organisational abilities.
•The capacity to manage and delegate changing workloads and priorities effectively.
•A knack for creative problem-solving, even in high-pressure situations.
•Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
•A valid, full UK driving license.
