Tug Driver / Container Driver

We are currently recruiting for Tug Drivers and Container Drivers to join a well-established and growing operation. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent position with consistent hours, excellent overtime rates and genuine long-term career prospects.

The Role

As a Tug Driver / Container Driver, you will play a key role in the movement of containers across busy operational sites, ensuring freight moves safely, efficiently and on schedule. You will be responsible for transporting containers and trailers between ports, rail terminals and customer locations whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tug vehicles, Class 1 vehicles and articulated units.
  • Move containers and trailers across ports, terminals and customer sites.
  • Carry out container collections, deliveries and trailer movements.
  • Complete daily vehicle and equipment checks.
  • Follow all company, driver and health & safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and report any defects or issues promptly.
  • Work closely with operational teams to ensure freight is moved efficiently.
  • Deliver a professional and reliable service at all times.

 

What We Are Looking For

  • Class 1 (C+E) Licence preferred, but not essential depending on site requirements
  • Container driving experience beneficial but not essential
  • Strong focus on safety and attention to detail
  • Reliable and professional approach to work
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
