Port Operative 

Location: Immingham Dock
Shift Pattern: Flexible shifts, including nights/weekends 
Salary: £12.21 – £15.07 per hour

We are currently recruiting Port Operatives to join our hardworking and safety-conscious team at Immingham Port. As a key part of our port operations, you’ll help keep cargo moving efficiently and safely — whether that’s loading vehicles onto RoRo vessels, securing freight, or working as part of the quayside team.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist with the loading and unloading of ships, including vehicles, containers, and general cargo.

• Use lashing and securing equipment to safely fasten cargo.

• Operate basic port equipment (with training): ramps, vehicle scanners, tow bars, etc.

• Direct traffic within port limits (banksman duties).

• Follow Health & Safety procedures and use correct PPE at all times.

• Work collaboratively with vessel crews, port supervisors, and logistics staff.

• Maintain tidy and hazard-free work areas.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong team player with a positive attitude.

• Physically fit and willing to work outdoors in all weather.

• Comfortable with flexible shift work and tight turnaround times.

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential for vehicle-handling roles).

• Previous port, warehouse, logistics, or RoRo experience is desirable but not essential — full training provided.

Desirable Qualifications (Not Essential)

• Counterbalance Forklift / Tug / Shunter / Plant experience.

• Banksman / Traffic Marshal certification.

• CHIPS certificate
