Shoe Operative (Closing room)

Location: Northampton, NN2

Salary: £14.50 per hour

Working hours: 39 hours per week (Monday – Friday)

Contract Type: Maternity cover

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and dependable individual to join our clients Closing Room Team.

Responsibilities:

·       Skilled in all aspects of stitching and fitting shoe uppers using a sewing machine.

·       Meet quality and production targets, working independently and as part of a team.

·       Prioritise tasks to support production needs and adapt to changes (e.g., urgent orders, machine or material issues).

·       Communicate production or quality concerns to Team Leader/Supervisor.

·       Ensure machinery is well maintained and report any issues promptly.

Requirements:

·       Prior experience in a shoe production or similar stitching/machinist role is essential.

·       Fully competent in the use of industrial sewing machines.

·       High attention to detail and consistently high standards of workmanship.

·       Responsible, reliable, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

·       Strong communication skills and calmness under pressure.

·       Willingness to train others.

·       Maintains strict confidentiality with company and personal information.
