House Manager – Essex – Up to £50K

Here at Hampton’s Resourcing we are working in partnership with a top care provider based in the Essex area who are on the lookout for an experienced manager within children’s residential services to be the House Manager for their BRAND NEW semi-independent provision for young people in Southend on Sea. This service will provide support for young people with learning disabilities – does this fit your skillset?

Our client supports young people to achieve their goals, wishes and dreams through their expertise knowledge and understanding of experiences living with learning difficulties. They pride themselves in providing the tools necessary to the young people within their care to build their self-esteem and resilience in order to express their individuality freely using anti-discriminatory practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To ensure close and positive work is maintained with neighbouring schools and Education Teams in order to achieve educational continuity for each young person and to promote achievement and attainment
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, fire prevention and other Safety Standards in the Home and grounds, and adequate cleanliness / hygiene standards in practice
  • To oversee and ensure that the daily maintenance of records of individual young people in accordance with company policy, including daily logs and Looked After Children documents are maintained and up to date
  • To provide a partnership and network service to families, foster carers and referring agencies
  • Co-ordinating the induction of all staff ensuring competence in the home’s policies and procedures

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of working within a children’s/semi-independent managerial post (minimum 4 years)
  • Ability to formulate clear and effective care plans, working in partnership with young people and their families, and to undertake observational assessments
  • Working knowledge of childcare legislation and the Minimum Standards for Children’s Homes
  • Ability to participate in supervision, personal appraisal and training opportunities

Salary: Up to £50K
