Children’s Registered Manager – Surrey – Up to £48K

Here at Hampton’s we are working in close partnership with one of the most well-known children’s residential and educational care providers in the UK who are on the lookout for an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to open their BRAND NEW 5 bed SEMH home for young people based in Staines, Surrey! This role provides the perfect opportunity for an experienced manager to take on a new challenge of setting a home up from scratch and making your own mark on it! Are you up for the challenge?

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality of care and the progress children make within the home is outstanding as defined in the SCCIF and detailed within Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards
  • Mentor and support the leadership team in your setting and Residential support staff in provision of best possible childcare practices
  • Take responsibility for the management of the home within the agreed budget, taking account of all direct and indirect expenditure relating to staffing and resource requirements in partnership with your line manager
  • Ensure the day-to-day management, monitoring and supervision of staff is facilitated in a professional and competent manner

Skills and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years of managerial experience within a children’s residential care setting
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of Ofsted requirements and children’s regulations relevant to the role
  • Able to effectively use a range of effective and appropriate strategies in dealing with confrontational or challenging behaviour from young people including de-escalating and approved hold techniques
