Supervising Social Worker – Birmingham – Up to £37K

Here at Hampton’s we are honoured to be working in close partnership with an ‘Outstanding’ fostering agency who are on the lookout for a passionate and motivated social worker to join their ever-growing team as a Supervising Social Worker. As part of this role, you will be responsible for casework co-ordination, allocation and supervision of prospective foster carers ready for panel approval. Our client has a sole aim to provide warm, safe and diverse local homes in partnership with respective Local Authorities to best match the young people and set them up for adult life. This family-run organisation is a growing agency, who strive to develop skilled foster families by equipping them with the knowledge and know how to become effective therapeutic parents for all of their children and young people.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To co-work casework with social work assistants to support their development and skills in assessing and planning for children
  • To provide high quality supervision, coaching and mentoring of staff within the service
  • To carry out performance appraisals of social workers and social work assistants
  • To prepare and present clear and concise records and reports
  • To deputise for the Registered Manager when required

Skills and Experience:

  • Must be social work qualified
  • Must have a valid UK driving license
  • Have a good understanding of Local Children’s Safeguarding Board Procedures
  • Experience working within a fostering agency as a social worker (minimum 2 years)
  • Be willing to participate in the Out of Hours Duty System

Salary: Up to £37K (depending on experience)
